Dykema seeks an associate with 6-8 years of sophisticated law firm estate planning and administration experience for professionals and high net worth individuals and families.  Candidate would be resident in Bloomfield Hills and working with lawyers in many of our offices.  Principal areas of responsibility include:  1) drafting Wills and Trusts,  2) research,  3) supervising estate administration,  4) working on gift and estate tax returns and  5) working directly with existing clients and developing own clients.  We seek those with technical expertise commensurate with years of experience, excellent drafting skills with keen attention to detail and strong interpersonal and client skills.  Candidates should be team players with strong professional motivation to develop own practice and that of the estate planning group.  

Products Liability and Class Actions Litigation Associate

Washington, D.C.
Dykema's Washington D.C. office seeks an associate with 2-4 years of complex litigation experience to join our Products, Class Actions and Professional Liability practice group. Work will involve the defense of product liability and class action cases at the trial and appellate levels in state and federal court, locally and nationwide. Familiarity with products liability law and defense of consumer fraud litigation, including consumer class actions, is strongly preferred. Responsibilities will include drafting pleadings, drafting discovery requests and responses, document review and analysis, legal research, and writing briefs.   Other duties will include factual investigation, assisting with deposition preparation, taking and defending depositions, arguing motions, and assisting with trials.  Excellent written and oral advocacy skills are required. There will be opportunities to work with lawyers in other offices and occasional travel. A successful applicant will have excellent computer skills, including use of Microsoft Office, Lexis, Relativity and court filing systems, including ECF.
